TC800 – system overview

TC800 is a modular control system designed for industrial applications with high demands on I/O density, performance, and structured control cabinet layout.

It is intended for situations where it is advantageous to have:

  • a central CPU without integrated I/O,

  • pluggable peripheral modules,

  • a high concentration of signals in minimal space.

Modular architecture with front-facing I/O

The core of the TC800 system consists of pluggable I/O modules with front-facing terminals.
Each module is individually enclosed in a plastic housing that ensures its fixation on the bus and relative to neighboring modules.

Two module widths are available:

  • 12 mm – up to 16 inputs or outputs

  • 24 mm – up to 32 inputs or outputs

➡️ The result is a significantly higher I/O density per DIN rail length.

Modules can be:

  • inserted and removed individually,

  • including modules located in the middle of an assembly,

  • and, if required, even while the system is running.

Bus integrated into the DIN rail

Communication between modules is provided by a linear bus integrated directly into the DIN rail according to EN 60715.

  • versions for 7.5 mm and 15 mm rail depth

  • bus lengths for assemblies of 10 to 31 modules

  • power supply and data transmitted directly via the rail

Assemblies can be chained and distributed:

  • across multiple control cabinets,

  • along a technological line.

➡️ This minimizes primary cabling to sensors and actuators.

High-speed peripheral bus TCL3

TC800 I/O modules are interconnected via the TCL3 bus with transmission speeds in the range of several Mbit/s.

This enables:

  • very fast data exchange,

  • short cycle times,

  • stable operation even with a large number of I/O modules.

Central module without compromise

A defining feature of TC800 is the central module without integrated I/O, equipped with communication interfaces:

  • 2× Ethernet

  • 4× serial interfaces

  • USB A

  • USB micro

All system modules operate at a safe voltage of 24 V DC.
Power is distributed via the DIN-rail bus from a central power supply module.
