Small in size. Big in architecture.
Foxtrot is a compact modular PLC with a professional I/O system, deterministic communication, and full integration into the IP world.
Foxtrot – system overview
Foxtrot combines simple DIN-rail mounting with a professional control architecture and exceptional expandability.
It was designed as a compact alternative to modular PLC systems—without compromises in I/O, communication, or long-term stability.
One platform, multiple variants
Foxtrot is defined by a compact base module that simultaneously serves as:
-
the system controller,
-
a communication node,
-
the master of expansion buses.
Depending on the application, the following variants are available:
-
base modules with integrated I/O,
-
base modules without I/O,
-
customer-specific embedded variants (OEM, Open Frame).
➡️ All built on a single shared platform.
Modularity through two buses
Foxtrot base modules can be expanded simultaneously using two types of buses.
CIB® – installation bus
-
deterministic Master/Slave communication,
-
two-wire system (data + power),
-
free topology without termination resistors,
-
reach of up to 500 m on the longest branch,
-
designed for sensors, actuators, and elements in distributed installations.
TCL2 – PLC system bus
-
high-speed serial connection,
-
deterministic communication,
-
designed for fast PLC I/O in accordance with IEC 61131.
➡️ Both buses can operate simultaneously in real time within a single system.
Ethernet as a natural part of the system
The new generation of CP-2xxx base modules:
-
always includes two Ethernet interfaces,
-
enables secure remote management via TecoRoute,
-
supports operation in two separate LAN networks.
WiFi – flexible wireless access
The WiFi interface via the USB port enables:
-
convenient wireless service access,
-
local visualization on mobile devices,
-
temporary or mobile installations.
WiFi is not an add-on—it is a fully-fledged third network interface of Foxtrot.
Integrated LTE modem
Selected base modules with I/O can be equipped with an integrated LTE modem:
-
Foxtrot remains online even where no network infrastructure is available,
-
direct connection to the mobile network
-
without an additional router,
-
without external power supply,
-
without configuration of third-party devices.
-
Typical use cases:
-
measurement and control without customer IT infrastructure,
-
energy technologies in the field,
-
temporary installations,
-
backup communication channel,
-
secure remote management via TecoRoute.
LTE is not an add-on—it is a fully-fledged fourth network interface of Foxtrot.
Why Foxtrot
Foxtrot is not based on experimental or educational platforms, but on:
-
a proprietary, well-designed I/O system,
-
deterministic communication,
-
long-term backward compatibility of software and communication,
-
centralized firmware management.
Foxtrot is a system designed for installations that must operate reliably for years—anywhere in the world.
